In 1989, prior to the devaluation of the polish Zloty, Poland issued a 20,000 Zloty banknote to honour Marie Curie.

"100th anniversary of the awarding of the Nobel Prize in
chemistry to Marie Skłodowska-Curie To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the awarding of the Nobel
Prize in chemistry to Marie Skłodowska-Curie the National Bank of Poland has
issued a collector banknote of the face value of 20 złoty. The banknote will be
put into circulation on 25 November 2011"
